WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT?

Music Censorship is an invasive solution to the "problems" the world faces in regards to song lyrics. Music censorship is the practice of controlling and banning certain ideas or words involved with obscenities in a society. The problem is, no one really knows what an obscenity is. One hears a vulgar word or phrase considered offensive and are immediately insulted, but no rationale exists. Music is made for expression and enhancement; not to ruin someone’s day.  Lyrics are usually victims of music censorship because they are often mistaken for participating in offensive and stereotypical behavior.

The intactment of Music Censorship is influenced by the idea of protecting people from vulgar words or offensive ideas. However, song writers have no intentions to offend their listeners; they want to express their ideas. It is assumed that the topics presented in songs are loathsome because no one understands the true meaning. Society is too sensitive, and has a tendicy to attach themselves to issues. It is not the fault of society for the misconstruded ideas; it is the supplements that come with music censorship. Music Censorship is unfair to the artist and the music consumer.

So why is this important? Here are the reasons:

The entactment of music censorship conflicts with the First Amendment that grant citizens human and civil right.

Music Censorship prevents truth and passion in lyrics. Artists need to be able to express themselves completely without having to worry about restrictions and violations. Words put to a rhythm are not supposed to offend anyone or anything. These "issues" brought to attention should not be a matter of insult, but a matter of passion and expression.

Everyone cannot be protected from everything. There are always going be vulgarities in the world. Music Censorship is no way a protection; just a false sense of reality. Masking phrases and words deemed offensive cannot prepare anyone for what it present in our society. Opinions are always present; and people should experience and  understand other expressions; even through lyrics.

Censorship all together withholds the truth. Everyone should realize that censorship is not a fair nor valid form of law.
