Music censorship is the practice of controlling and banning certain ideas or words involved with obscenities in a society. The censorship of music is a law that regulates audio recording and other musical aspects. This law limits the use of lyrics and how someone would express those words.
THE FIRST AMENDMENT
The idea of music censorship directly violates first amendment rights. That is our freedom of expression being withheld. According to the First Amendment in the United States Constitution, “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech.” Any material that is deemed offensive is not an exception from such protection. Citizens are entitled to civil and human right; which prohibits the concept of unlawful media and music censorship. Putting limitations on musical recordings, re-writing song lyrics, and editing atrocities out of songs violates First Amendment principles.
